God's Army or Satan's?

Evil has become such an expected part of life for me that the grave responsibility of spiritual warfare is something I neglect.
Yes, while you're still basking in the afterglow of Christmas, I'm going to talk about evil. It's everywhere, and if you as a Christian attempt to ignore it, you're only aiding the cause of the evil one named Satan.
Three recent manifestations of Satan's ways impacting people I love have awakened me with a new resolve to pay attention on the spiritual battlefield.
Satan's greatest weapon is desensitization. We see evil over and over until we're convinced it's okay because "everyone is doing it"; or we're so used to fighting evil that it becomes routine and we put less and less effort into it.
Satan loves us either way: blind or lazy. He doesn't care how often we go to church or pray to Jesus for a new car, as long as we leave him be.
Not that there's anything negative about going to church or praying for things we want--it's just that Satan's in the business of separating souls from God and if all we're doing is attending worship services and asking for our material dreams to come true, we're doing nothing to stand in his way, are we?
When I first became a Christian, I heard of spiritual warfare and thought it was something I wouldn't have to worry about--an activity surely reserved for drama prone, dragon slaying super preachers.
Whether you know it or not, whether you believe it or not, every living human is either a part of God's army or a part of Satan's. There is a war between the two that will not end until time ends, and there can be no neutral parties in the war. If we've surrendered to Christ, we've enlisted on the side of God, and we are not allowed to sit out.
So how do we fight?

Diane - It's hard for me to come to grips with satanic forces in the tangible world every day. I don't go looking for satan behind every rock...I never know how much attention I should be giving to worrying about satanic forces. I'd rather focus on the Good Guy, if you know what I mean!
