As Promised
Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 03:00PM Thank you, Lord,
for firmly holding my hand
as promised
while I fidget like a sugar-fed child,
whine, drop to the floor, fists pounding
Thank you for unbreakable mirrors
labeled Isaiah 3:16, Psalm 12:4, James 2:20
The Lord's promises are pure
and are meant to purify
and I will be your God
You must be set aside,
allow me to consume you completely
But someone substituted his ability for my inability
on a dead tree on Golgotha,
thereby parting the sea of death for me
He alone is worthy to be praised
I trust the Lord
He has never let me down
Why do you tell me to fly away to safety
like a sparrow,
when Jesus tells me to rise like an eagle?
He has broken me
and now I rejoice,
because God is faithful forever
Thanksgiving,
born again life,
poetry,
promises
