On the Air

Click here to listen to my first interview as an author: Sunday, 1/11/09 on Urban Literary Review (BlogTalkRadio) with L. Martin Johnson Pratt ( @iluvblackwomen on Twitter ).

Click here to listen to my Saturday, 7/11/09 interview with Evangelist Maureen Chen and her co-host Juergen on Kingdom Club on BlogTalkRadio.

Robin Tramble interviewed me on 7/14/09 on the subject "Why Forgiveness Tests Our Faith", during her awesome Dynamic Women of Faith Telesummit. (Recording issues required that the interview be split into two parts - Part II is here.)

My transformation from atheist to born-again Christian minister was fodder for a second 60-minute interview with Evangelist Maureen Chen and co-host Juergen Mair on Kingdom via the BlogTalkRadio network on Saturday, 7/25/09.

About My Book
This area does not yet contain any content.

Stepping into the Light: You’re a Christian, what now? is a great primer for the new adult Christian, as well as a devotional and inspiring Christian living guidebook.

Written by Diane L. Harris, the daughter of a South Bronx born Jew and a Jamaican-American ex-Episcopalian Jewish convert, Stepping into the Light is the fearless testimony of a former atheist who admits that while Christian salvation erases the threat of eternal damnation, becoming a Christian is not a magical pill for the ills of life on earth.

Combining curiosity, transparency, a gift for simplifying erudition and a palpable joy, Minister Diane explores the questions for God that inundated her as a “baby believer.”

With clarity and wielding a humble sense of humor, this woman of God leads the way to a down-to-earth relationship with a loving Messiah by answering such important questions as: What’s the meaning of salvation? Who do I become when I’m born again? Do I need to know about spiritual warfare? How is the Old Testament relevant to me as a Christian? What does the New Testament teach? What promises does God have for me? Can I contribute to the kingdom of God?

If you are a Christian, “baby believer” or not, who is asking yourself, “what now?” this book is written for you.

5 Favorite Christian Blogs, Continued

Three Saturdays ago, I posted My 5 Favorite Christian Blogs (This Week) and promised to continue the practice but not necessarily every week. A good thing I didn't promise to do it every week, because I hate breaking promises.

On that note, the following are 5 more Christ-oriented blogs which I promise you are worth a reading, as busy as you may be. Each of the following bloggers shares her or his Christ-following experience transparently and touchingly, teaching and inspiring me and I hope you too.

Once again, I suggest that you sing to yourself my specially written Favorite Christian Blogs theme song (lyrics below) to the tune of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music:

Funny or serious, rambling or pointed / often inspiring and truly anointed

Passionate people with God on their minds / these are a few of my favorite finds

In the blog world / they are voices / bold and not ashamed

Questioning, preaching, discipling and teaching / and lifting our Savior's name

And this week's honorees are:

Fresh Wind Ministries - Yvette Nietzen, an ordained minister living, working, and studying in Costa Rica, has indeed been a fresh wind in my life, quietly and faithfully inspiring me and many other readers I'm sure to hold tighter to God and grow deeper in His word. Reading Yvette's blog is like getting a ray of sunshine online, and being refreshed by the Holy Spirit.

Persevere - In spite of a painful illness, Lori Laws runs the race of faith as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. She's a sweetheart with a sense of humor who is serious about her Lord and Savior and perseveres to help others to see Him more clearly.

GoodWordEditing.com - Marcus Goodyear is a connector. He connects Christian bloggers to each other for camaraderie and stimulation, and he helps us connect to a greater audience through The High Calling, High Calling Blogs, and Faith in the Workplace. On his own blog, Marcus is a consummate encourager and edifier for those who want to blog well for the Christian market.

Christian Fiction - The tagline on Dee Stewart's blog is "Connecting Christian Readers with Good Storytellers". Dee works hard to do this well, through articles and podcasts, interviews, and book reviews. And Dee is quite a good storyteller herself.

Adrian Warnock - A regular preacher at Jubilee Church in London, England, Adrian Warnock shares an impressively large, expressive, and solidly instructive body of Christ and Church centered blog posts on his self-named site, along with a tantalizing array of study and inspirational resources for Christian scholars and laypersons alike.

Happy reading. Be blessed.

Diane,
So glad I met you on Twitter. Very nice blog. I look forward to visiting the sites you recommend. Your sidebar testimony sounds very interesting. I saw your book on Amazon addresses Christian Jewish relations. That sold me. I'll write you a review when I finish your book.

Have you visited Biblicalholidays.com (my other site).

Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Blessings,
Robin
