Children, Go Where I Send Thee
Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 06:00AM I enjoy listening to the advice given by the judges on American Idol almost as much as I like listening to new, young singers stretching their entertainment muscles and being discovered by America (and the rest of the world). Very often, especially once the competition narrows down to the final 12, even a really good performance will be slapped down by Simon or one of the other judges for being too "safe". "You didn't take the risks we want you to take," they'll say.
I can understand playing it safe. I never do anything in public without knowing exactly how it'll turn out--not unless I'm backed into a corner. For my 100th post on "Stepping into the Light", though, I'm going to be obedient and write without a net, so to speak. It may mean nothing to you, but to me and God, this is sort of a step.
For the last four days I've tried to think, "what shall I write next?" I've jotted down at least seven or eight perfectly good ideas, but when I try to develop them, for some reason the old spiritual, "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" keeps playing in my mind.
So, I've given up on ignoring the Spirit, and here begins a brief series of posts related to the song, "Children, Go Where I Send Thee".
I have no idea where this is going. And that, I think, is the point.
Enjoy Audra McDonald singing "Children, Go Where I Send Thee", accompanied by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I'll be back.

Enjoyed this video, and yes, we do need to go and obey the leading of the Holy Ghost. Once we take that first step, He will lead us the rest of the way.
It's it amazing how peaceful we become when we simply follow the leading of the Holy Spirit? I'm learning to surrender much sooner, and to be obedient to God's will just as you're doing with this series. Keep on following where the Lord leads you because the Father knows exactly where He wants you to go and how you should get there. Blessings and thanks for a great post.
The Holy Spirit is leading you to do this and I know it will be a blessing for all who reads. I am anxiously awaiting your first post!
God bless!
